How we find the plays
We watch the numbers that move first
Hype shows up in the comments after the price has moved. The data shows up before. Four things we track on every era, set and chase card:
Sold prices
Real sales, not asking prices
Listings can sit far above what anything actually sells for. Every price here is a completed sale, cleaned of preorders, wrong-set titles and graded slabs mixed into raw logs.
Supply
Count what is left
How many boxes are listed, how often they sell, how many perfect copies exist. When supply dries up, it shows in the data before it shows in the headlines.
Lead signals
Spot the move early
In three of four Pokemon eras we measured, the top PSA 10 slabs doubled two to four months before that era's booster boxes did. See the research
