How these rankings work
- Price: TCGplayer's market price for a raw, ungraded Near Mint copy, which is based on recent sales, not asking prices.
- One row per printing: 1st Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited, Holo and Reverse Holo copies are ranked separately.
- Singles only: sealed product, jumbo cards, World Championship decks, trainer kits, and McDonald's, Prize Pack and other giveaway promos are left out.
- Released sets only: a set counts once it is out; presale prices never do.
- Refreshed monthly: every ranking page updates from the latest TCGplayer prices each month.
- Gaps: a card with no recent Near Mint sale on TCGplayer has no market price, so a few rare vintage cards can be missing.

FAQ
What is the most expensive Pokemon card right now?
Ranked by raw Near Mint market price on TCGplayer at the latest monthly refresh, the most expensive card here is Mewtwo Star from EX Holon Phantoms at $9,200.00. Latias & Latios GX (Alternate Full Art) from Team Up is second at $4,499.66, and Mew - R/RGB from 30th Celebration third at $4,278.49. Graded copies and one-of-a-kind trophy cards sell for far more and are not ranked here.
Which Pokemon era has the most expensive cards?
EX cards take 11 of the 30 spots in the all-era top 30. By its single most expensive card, EX leads at $9,200. By depth, Wizards of the Coast is the hardest era to crack: its 30th most expensive card still costs $700.
Are these prices for graded cards?
No. Every price is the TCGplayer market price for a raw, ungraded copy in Near Mint condition, which TCGplayer calculates from recent sales. PSA 10 and other graded copies usually sell for much more.
Why does the same card appear more than once?
Each printing is ranked on its own. A 1st Edition, Shadowless, Unlimited or Reverse Holo copy of the same card sells for a different price, so each one gets its own row.
How current are these prices?
The rankings refresh every month from TCGplayer market prices, which come from recent sales. Pokemon prices move fast, so a card can climb or fall between refreshes.
